The story behind the running rabbit.
As many of you know I started making candles in the summer of 2020 whilst furloughed; trying out different waxes and fragrances which was a lot of fun and kept me sane. Around the same time, I decided to go through family photographs. Whilst discussing these with my Dad, John , I discovered diaries and autograph books from the 1920s that belonged to his father – and my grandfather - Harry Bullinaria. These were from his time spent in the RAF in India, stationed at Upper Topa. Harry passed the time by drawing in his book and at the bottom of the drawing were his little ‘cartouche’ of the running rabbit; often with a caption of ‘curious’ along with his initials. I decided that I wanted to carry on this piece of family history and, so I recreated the ‘curious rabbit’; keeping it as close to the original as I could to keep the Bullinaria brand going.
